Top Things to Be Thankful for in El Paso, Texas (Part One)

As we wait for winter to arrive in Texas, this is a great moment to pause and thank all our residents at Cantera Apartments in El Paso, Texas, for being such great neighbors!

We’re also grateful for all the perks of living in such a diverse and dynamic city. As the seasons change, it’s the perfect time to share what makes our city so special.

May you find your own treasures to add to this list.

The Great Outdoors

As nearly 680,000 residents (and growing) call El Paso home, it’s easy to find your own spot to relax anywhere in our 258 square miles.

El Paso basks in sunshine nearly year-round, with an inviting average temperature of 68 degrees. Here, the outdoors isn’t just scenery—it’s an open invitation to adventure, explore, and soak up every golden afternoon.

If you enjoy hiking or biking, El Paso has miles of trails for every skill level. We shared our favorite family-friendly biking trails in June 2025, and hikers can enjoy the outdoors all year. Check out our full list for more ideas.

If you love the water, El Paso is full of ways to have fun year-round. From floating down rivers to swimming in lakes and ponds, there’s always something to enjoy.

Golf enthusiasts LOVE El Paso for their award-winning golf courses. With fall offering some of the best weather to hit the links, there are so many options to tee it high and let it fly. Over the years, we have posted our list of the best golf courses in El Paso, which are a short drive from our apartment community in El Paso.

National Parks

El Paso is home to some truly beautiful national parks. With amazing views, canyons, deserts, and hills, these parks are perfect for a staycation or a quick getaway.

If you’re planning a trip this year, it’s a good idea to book early, since many parks limit visitor capacity. For ideas, check out this article on the “Five Epic National Parks Near El Paso.”
