Earlier this month we shared a few of our favorite things to do in the wintertime in El Paso, and now, the list continues! With a new year underway, it’s the perfect time to step out from your Cantera apartment community in El Paso, Texas and enjoy the fresh air and fun times to come!

 

Take A Hike or Bike

Get your adventure hat on and explore the great outdoors! Throughout our apartment community in El Paso, TX, we hear about our residents’ favorite family-friendly hikes all the time. With that in mind, we thought this edition of our news would be a perfect time to share some of the top hikes in El Paso, TX. So, bundle up a bit and go enjoy some fresh air this year!

 

El Paso Tin Mines Trail

This is a perfect 6.6-mile day hike that is a favorite for explorers of all ages. There are activities along the way to keep the kiddos moving forward and their minds learning new things as well.  This trail is also dog friendly, yet do not forget the leash and some water for your pup and trail pals, too. 

 

Tom Mays Nature Walk

This is another popular “short and scenic” .08-mile loop that can connects to the Sunset Loop Trail if you desire to extend your walk. Throughout the trail you will find nature at its finest right at your feet and within the vistas along the way. 

Hueco Tanks State Historic Site

One of the best ways to enjoy the great outdoors in the wintertime is time at Hueco State Park. They have a full line-up of things to see and do year-round with your family and friends. Here is a list of what’s available for you!

Chamizal National Memorial

Here’s another fun and educational option for those who love history and the great outdoors.

Chamizal National Memorial is open every day of the week and is conveniently located in central El Paso. The Chihuahuan Desert climate offers many days of great weather, even in the winter, for a variety of outdoor activities, such as biking, exploring the park's trails, or having a picnic.

Watch the Chamizal National Memorial orientation video and delve into Chamizal history by exploring the updated museum exhibit. Speak with a park ranger to gather information and learn about ranger-led programs, as well as upcoming park or community events. Experience US-Mexico border culture through visual and performing arts.
