  |     |   Fall, Family, Local Events, Traditions

Earlier this month we showcased events in El Paso in October. As there are so many things to do and see in the fall season, our staff at Cantera apartments to rent or lease in El Paso continues the list for you!

On October 17, the Halloween BBQ Market takes over the El Paso County Coliseum Pavilion. More than 80 vendors will be on hand, along with food trucks, a state BBQ competition, dance performances, trick-or-treating and a Halloween costume contest. Admission is free, making this a fun family-friendly way to celebrate the season.

Día de los Muertos | October 24

One of the month's biggest cultural celebrations is the Día de los Muertos Desfile & Festival on October 24 in Downtown El Paso. The free festival runs from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., with the parade beginning at 4 p.m. Visitors can enjoy traditional altars, arts and cultural activities, local vendors, music, performances and approximately 60 parade entries.

Amigo Airsho | October 24–25

Look to the skies for the 2026 MSSG Amigo Airsho: Red, White & Blues on October 24–25. The spectacular aviation event features the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptor Demo Team, U.S. Army Golden Knights and other aerial performers. It promises an exciting weekend for aviation enthusiasts and families alike.

La Llorona | October 24

For an evening of traditional folklore and a few chills, head to historic San Elizario for La Llorona on October 24. The free outdoor theatrical performance brings the famous Hispanic legend to life, followed by a walking tour featuring the "Ghost Stories of San Elizario." Bring a chair, as seating is limited.

Halloween at the Zoo | October 31

Families can celebrate Halloween at Boo at the Zoo on October 31. This year's "Creepy Carnival" includes carnival games, educational booths, a costume contest, music, wildlife experiences and, of course, candy. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and is included with regular zoo admission.

Haunted El Paso

For older kids, teens and adults who prefer their Halloween a little scarier, El Paso has several haunted attractions. Forbidden Acres Haunted Outdoor Trail, 915EchoesOfHorror, The Grove Haunted house and The Haunted Houses of Terror offer seasonal haunted-house and outdoor scare experiences.

You can also explore El Paso's darker history with El Paso Ghosts: Ghost Tours & Haunted Pub Crawls, which combines local history, downtown landmarks and ghost stories.

October 31 offers even more Halloween fun, including the Halloween Bar Crawl for adults, beginning in Downtown El Paso at 4 p.m.

With art, music, cultural traditions, pumpkins, BBQ, aviation and plenty of Halloween thrills, October is one of the liveliest months on El Paso's calendar. It's a great time to experience the city—and there is an event for virtually every age and interest.
